BOULDER, Colo., November 06, 2015
SolidFire, the #1 Solid-State Array, today announced that the Colorado Technology Association has named Dave Wright CEO of the Year in the 15th annual 2015 APEX Awards. Ten awards were presented to companies and individuals who have made an impact on Colorado’s rapidly growing technology sector, including the prestigious CEO of the Year award. This award recognizes a creative, innovative and determined founder or CEO who has led a Colorado-based tech company to success. In addition to the daily role of leading their company, the APEX CEO of the Year award honors a leader who works to drive the vibrancy of the tech economy beyond their business.
Since founding SolidFire in 2010, Dave has become one of the leading visionaries and disruptors in the enterprise storage market. Dave, and the team at SolidFire, are leading the transformation of IT and the transition to the cloud and the Next Generation Data Center. According to the Denver Business Journal, Dave’s personal attributes leading to success include his willingness to challenge the status quo, as well as his decisiveness and conviction. The company is now the largest privately owned all-flash company in the market. SolidFire has developed an all-flash scale-out storage platform that is purpose-built to deliver guaranteed storage performance to thousands of mixed workloads from a single, scalable, automated system in which performance and capacity can be added incrementally.
“Being named APEX CEO of the Year by the Colorado Technology Association is a true testament to the impact SolidFire has made in the industry by disrupting legacy players in a crowded storage market,” said SolidFire’s CEO Dave Wright. “Our customers’ and partners’ success demonstrates that the technologies we’ve pioneered are enabling the transition to the Next Generation Data Center and driving greater business value. We have a world-class team that I am privileged to lead each and every day.”
Under Dave’s leadership, SolidFire recently reached multiple milestones:
Dave recently also received Ernst and Young’s 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Mountain/Desert region, was named Cloud Executive of the Year by Business Intelligence Group and was recognized as finalist in ColoradoBiz Magazine’s CEO of the Year program. Under Dave’s leadership, SolidFire was named winner of NetworkWorld Asia 2015 Information Management Awards in the Most Promising Storage Innovation category and was listed as one of The Top 25 Disrupters of 2015 by Computer Reseller News.
“The APEX Awards are the highest honor for companies and individuals leading our Colorado technology community. This year we had an amazing group of finalists – all who should be honored for their work to grow Colorado,” said Erik Mitisek, CEO of Colorado Technology Association.
